Interesting note from a buddy of mine. He logged into his VirtualCenter (5.x) and found almost all of his Virtual Machines with an error condition. Yet there were NO ALARMS and everything in the environment was running fine. It was basically a non issue.
No harm done but as you can imagine, incredibly annoying. Joseph reached out to VMware support and received word that it was a known issue with no official solution. Support did suggest a vMotion as a possible workaround to clear the alarm condition though. This particular location only had a single vSphere host though so after a quick switch to EVALUATION mode licensing and a Storage vMotion, all was clear again.
Thanks Joe for the story and tip!
